Breastmilk is perhaps one of the best things a mother can do for her new born baby. Breastmilk is proven to cultivate healthy bacteria in a newborn’s intestinal system which helps the baby absorb nutrients better and boost its immune system development. Also, breastmilk is free! Besides some obvious products that you can gift expecting mothers such as baby bottles, there are some not so obvious ones that can help both moms and babies tapping into this wonderful free source of healthy goodness.Continue reading
Following the previous post about “Gifts and Tips to Avoid Back Pain During Pregnancy,” this post is about gifts and gift ideas for the moms-to-be. I’ll re-use some of the ideas mentioned in the previous article but with additional details. Some gifts to show your support, appreciation and encouragement would be nice. Below you can find gift ideas that will do just that by helping moms-to-be feel more comfortable, more appreciated and more beautiful (again).Continue reading
Gifts and ideas that can help expecting mothers relieve or avoid back pain
I have a related post about “Gifts for People with Back Pain” in which I introduced some gifts and gift ideas that can help us relieve back pains. Some of the items mentioned such as back braces, back mats or massage cushions are probably not suitable for expecting women. This post is a step further from the first post; here I’ll address how to avoid back pain during pregnancy and some practical gifts that are best suited for pregnant women in relieving and preventing pain. These are the things I collect from my families and friends and from various research.Continue reading
I love writing about gifts and gift ideas that help us solve the problems we have or at least make them become more tolerable. That’s why the first couple of posts I wrote on Gift ASAP were all about pain relieving gifts — the kind of pains that my friends and relatives and probably yours, too, have been experiencing. This time, I’m turning to a problem that I’ve had — migraine headaches. The headaches can come out of the blue or can be triggered by anything from strong smell (of perfume or smoke), bright sun light, heat, noise, caffeine or stress and deadlines.
When the headache strikes, I don’t want to do anything, just want to lay down, close my eyes and rest. If it strikes at work, I turn off the light, take a cup of warm tea, and close my eyes for several minutes from time to time — small things that help get me through the day. Below are some products and gift ideas that people with frequent headaches will appreciate.Continue reading
Foot pain causes
I didn’t really care much about foot pain until recently when my mom was complaining incessantly about her foot pain, especially how painful it was for her to stand first thing in the morning. It turned out my mom was not alone; many of her friends have had foot pain, and even some of my friends, who are in their 20s and 30s, also have foot pain.
Pain is like a signal your body is trying to tell you there’s something (wrong) going on, in this case with your foot, and unless you do something about it, the pain is only to get worse with your daily life and activities. The pain could be due to inflammation or misalignment of one or more of the different structures in your foot including bone, joint and ligament or tendon.Continue reading

Birkenstock shoes are made in Germany since 1774 by Birkenstock Orthopädie GmbH & Co. KG. Birkenstock shoes are known for their contoured cork and rubber footbeds, which conform to the shape of their wearers’ feet, thus deliver great support and comfort and also enables body weight to be distributed evenly over the whole foot.
Birkenstock’s most products include: Birkenstock Unisex Arizona Sandal, Birkenstock Boston High/ Regular Arch Clog, Birkenstock London Clog, Birkenstock Boston Clog, Birkenstock Women’s Arizona Sandal, Men’s Birkenstock COMO Buckle Casual Thong Sandals, Birkenstock Gizeh Birko-Flor Thong, Birkenstock Women’s Amsterdam Clog and more. Remember to look for soft footbed in the name, with blue print/label on the sandals. The regular footbed pairs are fine and provide good support, too, but I find the soft footbed ones more comfortable to the touch.
